Nevada County Girls Softball Association offers a variety of softball programs and welcomes all players regardless of experience.

Our Spring Recreation Program

All players are welcome. There are no tryouts required for the recreation program but players will participate in a skills assessment event. The purpose of the skills assessment is to help NCGSA and the coaches create balanced teams with complementary skill sets. 

  • Age Groups: 6 and Under (6U), 8 and Under (8U), 10U, 12U, and 14U
  • Registration Dates
    • Early Registration begins December 1st
    • Regular Registration closes around 
    • Late Registration closes mid-March
  •  Games and Practices
    • First game starts late March and the last game is played late May. The end-of-year tournament is played last week of May through the first weekend of June.
    • Teams will typically play one weekday and one weekend game. There have been occasions where double-headers are played on a weekend.
    • Each coach is responsible for the practice schedule but one practice during the week is typical.
  • Registration Fee - (subject to change)
    • 6U - $75-100
    • 8U - $130-155
    • 10U - $140-165
    • 12U - $140-165
    • 14U - $140-165
    • Registration fees include the cost of jerseys, field maintenance, player insurance, etc.
  • Game Locations
    • Most games, if not all, will be held at Nevada Union and/or Bear River High Schools. In the past, the 12U and 14U age groups have played a couple of games in the Sacramento area for experience playing outside of the league.
  • How to get started
    •  Return to this site (www.ncgsa.org) on December 1st to register.
    • After regular registration ends, you will be provided with information about the skills assessment process.

Our BBall Program

The BBall Program was created to give players the opportunity for more competitive play within a recreation league setting. Compared to typical travel teams, our BBall program is less expensive and travel is no more than an hour and a half away. Tryouts are required for the BBall program.

  • Age Groups: 10U, 12U, and 14U
  • Registration Dates
    • Early Registration begins December 1st
    • Regular Registration closes around 
    • Late Registration closes mid-March
  •  Games and Practice
    • Tournaments start in April and run until the end of June.
    • BBall players participate in tournament style play one to two weekends a month. The tournaments are usually Saturday-Sunday with a few end of season tournaments starting on Friday evening.
  • Registration Fee - (subject to change)
    • $550
    • Registration fees include the cost of jerseys, tournament fees, field maintenance, player insurance, etc.
  • Game Locations (per past events, subject to change)
    • Rocklin, Woodland, Rancho Cordova

Our Fall Ball Program

Players must have played on a Spring Recreation team or a BBall team during the preceding spring in order to play on a Fall Ball team. Fall Ball is more competitive than the Spring League and players are required to tryout for the teams. Tryouts are not required for 6U.

    •  Regular Registration August 1 - September 1
  •  Games and Practices
    • First game starts mid-September
